We’re thrilled to announce that She Births® founder Nadine Richardson is now an official ambassador for the eco-friendly clothing brand, Boody! To celebrate, we caught up with Boody’s CEO, Shaun Greenblo, who also happens to be a She Births® dad.

From what makes Boody the perfect choice for parents to his own experiences with She Births®, Shaun gives us the lowdown on all things bamboo clothing and parenting.

How and why was Boody created?

Boody was born out of the perfect combination of a fashion and health background coming together. My father, David Greenblo, had built a career in the fashion industry, while his good friend, Neil Midalia, came from a background in pharmacies. The pair decided to unite their experience and expertise to create Boody.

Boody is different in the way we’re “slow fashion” rather than “fast fashion”. We create timeless, everyday essentials that don’t chase the latest trends. Our garments are thoughtfully crafted from organically-grown bamboo, which is what makes them super soft, comfy and breathable.

What makes Boody Baby the better choice for parents?

Both yourself and your wife, Jana, did She Births® to prepare for the birth of your first son, Noa. How was the experience for you both?

The program was incredibly informative and eye-opening. Jana is a doctor and has a lot of experience in obstetrics. It was even more beneficial for me then it was for her! I learnt about the practical things that happen during labour and delivery. I was provided tools for dealing with all the uncertainty. It also gave me strategies to support my wife physically, emotionally and spiritually during her labour, which was over 24 hours!

I was very much present during the program and just as much involved as Jana. I was impressed by the balance in learnings between science-based evidence and emotional tools, which I found to be both insightful and informative. Nadine is an incredible teacher – relatable, practical and to the point.

Would you recommend She Births® to other soon-to-be parents and why?

Absolutely. From our perspective as a couple, it was amazing as it gave us an opportunity to turn the experience into a beautiful emotional and spiritual journey.

We were completely present and aware of the massive shift that was about to take place for us as a family. It was really special.
